ABOUT HEATHERBIANCE
The job title of journalist is not to be held lightly. I believe we are
given the incredible burden of lending a voice to the voiceless and holding people accountable for their actions. That my friends, is powerful.
There's also no doubt our industry is evolving. Social media is an incredibly powerful tool that allows all of us to consume and disperse news. Let's be honest, people can get their headlines from their smartphones any hour of the day, without ever once touching the remote. We have to continue to find new ways to give them
something on-air that they can't get anywhere else in order to keep them coming back for more. On the other hand, we have to feed that need for news in real-time and social media is a huge asset in getting information out fast. I use it every day of my life and it allows
journalists to be more than a face on TV, we become approachable, which is crucial in this business.
My passion for great story telling started in middle school with our TV Production class. Since then my thirst for answers has only become more insatiable. I live and breath this business and know without a doubt, this is what I was born to do.
